imported recordings are not in listed in directories

Added by Christian Bast almost 7 years ago

I sat up TVH on a new server. I had some old recordings, which are still on the NAS. The new recording directory is direct on the server.

I copied the dvr/log-files from the old installation to the new one and I corrected the path in the "filename". The video files were not touched or moved.

I though, I had success, the old recordings were shown in the "finshed recordings"-tab. But when I run Kodi, all old recordings are in the base-folder, not in subfolders. The log-files contain the "directory"-entry, but only new recordings are sorted in the subfolders.

In the past I had differnt versions of TVH, now I use 4.2.4-23~gceaf330cb.

I could not spot a difference in the log file of a new recording, which is sorted in a subfolder, and a old one, which is sorted in the base folder, although the "directory"-entry is there.

I imagine what has happened is your old files are not located underneath your dvr recording path.

So old files are in /mnt/nas/old, new recordings and recording path in /mnt/nas/new. When tvheadend sends path details to Kodi, it strips the recording path (/mnt/nas/new) and sends just the sub-directories ("tvshows/Simpsons").

What you need to do is move the files together in to the same directory.
If you can't do that, you can just symlink all the files from the nas to your new server and update the paths to point to the new server.

OK i moved the old files to the new recording directory, but it didn't changed anything.

I decided not to work on this problem any longer. I moved the old recordings from TVH to a video folder and extracted the description from the log files to create nfo-files which Kodi can read.
