EPG file access issues...
Added by stepher ru almost 7 years ago
As usual, not sure if this is the right forum....but maybe the 1st and best place to start....
System: RPI 3/OSMC/TVHeadEnd/zap2epg (zap2epg is a new version of zap2xml).
Updating the xmltv.xml file is not the problem. It's being updated nightly as it's supposed to be with ALL the channels I've selected along with all the program info.
1st issue is that there seems to be a channel filter set when I view EPG in the TVHeadEnd web interface. The Filter Channel box near the top of the page has nothing in it. Have clicked on "Clear Filter" in that box and also clicked on "Reset All" (upper right), yet no effect. Is there some other filter somewhere that may have been accidentally set?
2nd issue (this may be more about osmc/kodi but could be related to TVHeadEnd)....Up until recently, when I went to TV/Guide I was able to see all the channels and program listings. Now with the xmltv.xml file located/stored/updated in ~/.kodi/userdata/addon_data/script.module.zap2epg/ TV/Guide shows "No Information Found" for each channel. Is there somewhere I need to tell TVHeadEnd (or maybe this is kodi) that the file is located in the new directory? I have restarted TVHeadEnd and rebooted the system a few times without any success
Thx much in advance for the help.
Cheers....

I'm assuming it used to work and this is not the first time you've set it up.
If there's nothing in the EPG then it could be that no channels are mapped. Check Configuration->Channel->Channels. Is anything in there? If not, there is a "map services" button to map services to channels.
Otherwise, check Configuration->Channel->EPGGrabber Channels. It's possible that the names for channels that zap2epg is producing does not match the names of channels you have. So check that grid and you should have entries in "ID" and in the "Names" and the "Channels" columns.

Update (11/12/17.1)
OK. Certainly my bad Thought I had the EPG sources set for all the channels (Configuration->Channel->Channels) and actually did and didn't pay enuf attention. Apparently during a recent update it must have cleared all the entries (except for channels 1.X and 11.X).
Redid all the entries and now have my EPG guide back.
Appreciate the time and help.

True. Not the 1st time.
Configuration->Channel->Channels: checked and everything is there
Configuration->Channel->EPGGrabber Channels: If the names don't match, that would be something new. However, I'll check in again.
I went back and looked at TV/Guide and discovered it's not all "No information found". It's the same as I found in TVHeadEnd - The channels that are shown with information begin with a "1" (1.X and 11.X, etc.). So, the TV/Guide and web interface are consistent with each other...which might be the good news here.
Checked the xmltv.xml file again and all the programs for all the channels I've selected are listed in the file.
Something somewhere is causing unwanted filtering. Any ideas?
