How to deal with recording conflicts

Added by Daniel Saunders about 7 years ago

Hi, new user to TVHeadEnd here, though I've used MythTV for many years.

I'm wondering how TVH deals with recording conflicts? I've got two USB tuners, so can record on 2 multi-plexes simultaneously. I've noticed with the recordings I have scheduled, this Sunday night there are three recordings on different multi-plexes scheduled. On the 'Current/Upcoming Recordings' page, one of those recordings isn't listed, which is fair enough, since my system can't record all three. Is there a way, however, to see when a recording conflict comes up, and then be able to take action on which programs are recorded?

Recordings and conflicts are handled by priorities of the differing adapters, services, autorec rules, etc.

I don't believe TVH presents conflicts to the user, but you can manually adjust priorities of a scheduled recording to ensure that it is given priority.

Thanks, that's what I thought. I'll post it as an 'issue' and see what happens from there.
