Wrong character set for TVHeadEnd IPTV source
Added by Vincent Nguyen about 7 years ago
Good morning,
I have installed TVHeadEnd, Build: 4.2.3-33~ga255d82, on a Raspberry Pi2 running Raspbian Lite.
I'm planning to use it sorely as a backend server (no transcode), for my IPTV source provided by my ISP (Free Telecom in France)
I'm using an m3u file as an input to define the network, and all muxes appear correctly, except that all french special character (such as é) appear as a instead.
Example: "107 - Paramount Décalé HD" becomes "107 - Paramount Dcal HD"
This appears in the muxes, and of course in the services as well.
I tried creating the network by forcing the character set to 8859-15, no change.
I'm relatively certain this used to work, did I miss something ?
Thanks

You could try using UTF-8 in your m3u (and name it with m3u8, which literally means UTF-8 m3u).
