I cannot connect on the webui on a Synology

Added by Aurélien Péruchon over 7 years ago

Hi all,

I installed the tvheadend-testing package on my Synology DS175+II.
I setting up a new user at the installation step 1 but I can't log in with this ...

Also, I add the -C in the start-stop-startup script, I create a new Admin users with the Webui and I can connect to the webui with this new user (with -C option enable)

In /var/packages/tvheadend-testing/target/var/passwd/a927e30a755504f9784f23a4efac5109 I have :

{
"enabled": true,
"username": "tvheadend",
"password2": "VFZIZWFkZW5kLUhpZGUtRW9uZWxpYTA2",
"wizard": true
}

In /volume1/@appstore/tvheadend-testing/var/accesscontrol I have a file d80ccc09630261ffdcae1497a690acc8 with my tvheadend configuration.

When I remove the -C option, I can't connect to the webui with the user created ...

I tried all the methods in https://tvheadend.org/boards/5/topics/9186?r=20365 and https://tvheadend.org/boards/5/topics/20710 without success ...

How can you solve this problem ? How can I see the log file in the syno ?

DSM : DSM 6.1.3-15152 Update 1
Tvheadend : 4.4.20170707-3 (Dierkse source).

Thanks you in advance :)

I solved the problem by change the user's tvheadend in "/var/package/tvheadend-testing/scripts/start-script-stop" by my DSM Administrator.
I apply the rights permissions : sudo chown -R myuser /volume1/@appstore/tvheandend-testing

Restart the package et works now :).

I have the same problem.

BUT:
The correct path is "/var/packages/tvheadend-testing/scripts/start-stop-status". There was the user "sc-tvheadend-testing" but /etc/passwd only had "sc-tvheadend" and "tvheadend-testing". So I've changed it to "sc-tvheadend". And furthermore I've chowned the app files to "sc-tvheadend".
But I still can't login ...

Regards, Tom

have tried everything I could find with my limited knowledge of Linux commands and editing scripts etc but still unable to login to tvheadend-testing web UI (4.4.20170707-3) on my Synology DS1813+ (DSM 6.1.3-15152 Update 5).

Could someone please provide instructions on how to make this work please keeping in mind I am not an expert ;)

thank you
Patrik

I think this is partially related to the issue in another forum. The configuration either doesn't have rights to save the data. So when you type in the user or password it does nothing. So no users are set. I have verified the -C does work but again, after all the setup. Once you restart, its gone.

Patrik: Have you really tried to call the full path: http://name:9981/extjs.html ??

RE: I cannot connect on the webui on a Synology - Added by Patrik Melbourne about 7 years ago

thank you for the replies, I did try the full path plus some other combinations - non worked. Even created the same account with the same credentials and full rights but nothing. I did notice the installer creates a User Group but with no permissions to it self or any other user, adjusted them but still nothing.

Anyway I guess tvheadend on Synology is at its early stages so I will have to abandon it for now.

The whole point of installing tvheadend was to run comskip scan on a recorded tv folder adding *.txt or *.edl files so Kodi skips the detected ads. I can get comskip to do 1 file perfectly but can not find any command to monitor/scan an entire folder. If anyone does, your input would be very much appreciated.

I had the same issues as you and here is what I did.

- Manual install 4.1.2437 version from http://syno.dierkse.nl/
- Setup TVHeadend in that version (Only did a few channels as a test)
- Reboot and verify everything sticks
- Add the http://syno.dierkse.nl/ to the synology repo and enable third party apps
- Go to community section and refresh
- Update your current version of tvheadend-testing (it should prompt you)

Then I can login and I added all my channels rebooted and everything stuck. So far so good!

Brandon you mentioned "Setup TVHeadend in that version (Only did a few channels as a test)" as a second step. How did you manage that without logging in to the WebUI ? thx Patrik

I was able to get in as long as it wasn't the latest testing version. If not I verified the -C method does work if you know how to do that? Then setup a user. Or install the sundtek driver and there is an option to add the -C automatically. I also read for the first login to hit cancel to clear the cache, and then type in username and password. The first couple sucks but after that it's rock solid. Let me know where you stand and I can try and help.

Anyone have an issue where about 20% of my channels don't show up as services in the latest 4.4? The do with any prior version...

thx Brandon for your help, I might further investigate if comskip is able to process entire directories rather than just particular files - that's all I was hoping tvheadend would achieve. Apart from that DVBlink is doing a good job at everything else TV related on my NAS for now :)

Hi all,

So, I reinstalled this package but I changed Synology.

When I downloaded and installed the tvheadend-testing package (Dierkse source), I was can't connect on the webui with my DSM user.

To solve it :

1 - Verify that your DSM user are in the sc-media group (DSM group too).
2 - Verify who user was created in the /etc/passwd (cat /etc/passwd). Is it "sc-tvheadend" for me.
3 - Open the start-stop-status file with "Vi" and verify SC-USER and LEGACY-USER lines like : SC-USER="sc-tvheadend" & LEGACY-USER="sc-tvheadend"

sudo vi /var/package/tvheadend-testing/scripts/start-stop-status

In "Vi", press i to enter in edit mode
Change the lines and press Escape
Save the file with your changes : Type :wq (write&quit)

4- Change folder permission with for the sc-tvheadend user and sc-media group.

sudo chown -R sc-tvheadend:sc-media /var/package/tvheadend-testing

5 - Restart the package in your DSM
6 - Go to the tvheadend URL and login it !

Just tried adding -c to the start-stop-status config file and finally it worked!

"sudo vi start-stop-status"
type "i" to edit
add -c
