SatIP annoucing empty tuner list - Don't know how to solve.

Added by Chris Beasley over 7 years ago

Hi

I'm trying to play with Sat>IP and get it to work. My config is this:

TVHeadend with 2 x 6981 DVB-S2 tuners
TVH Server running on a docker image on my NAS

On the server with the tuners, I can use Minisatip which will share the tuners correctly but I can't tune in to any service with them, but if I use the Sat>IP function of TVH on the server with the tuners (and all exported on port 554) the docker TVH instance cannot see anything but the UUID of the TVH Sat>IP server, it wont automatically list the tuners.

The TVH Sat>IP server states the following:

2017-07-28 13:30:59.145 satips: SAT>IP server announces an empty tuner list to a client 192.168.1.9 (missing network assignment)

and I do not know what this really means as the TVH Sat>IP server is configured on port 554 using sudo (even though it then shows its using RTSP port 9983 in the log) and the tuners are exported in the right sections.

How do I get TVH Sat>IP to announce a populated list with the exported tuners?

Thanks,

Chris

You need to give a network a satip source number.

How do I do that? Minisatip did it automatically, but in TVH there is no option under the SatIP server section to assign a number as a source... I'm just learning about Sat>IP so if you have any screenshots that would be fab!

Does anybody know how to set the DeviceID for the Sat>IP source number?

Try Configuration->DVB Inputs->Networks, click on your grid item then edit, then click view level expert, then enter 1 under SAT>IP source number then save. Then restart the other tvheadend.
