Limiting channels captured by LCN using OpenTV automatic settings

Added by Chris Beasley over 7 years ago

Hi

In New Zealand, OpenTV collection of Sky often has a lot of channels that are random test channels. Some of these have LCNs sitting outside the general channel number range (0-515ish for normal channels and then some in the 900s), the rest are in the 64000 range. I haven't done a collection yet, but I was wondering whether there is any way to stop these from being shown in the channel list if automatic collection is enabled? For the mediaportal sky plugin I inserted a range value that would effectively ignore any channel whose LCN was outside of this range, which kept a completely clean system. Is such a thing possible in TVheadend?

Thanks

Chris

If you just want to hide them from appearing in frontends [Kodi, Movian, HTSP] you can:

  • Disable them in the channel list.
  • Set a min-max channel range [in the access entry dialog].
  • Use a tag to exclude certain channels.

Small note, some changes to the bouquets [by the provider] may undo your settings to some channels [depending on the method you use to hide them from users].

I recommend using a min-max number range [which shouldn't be affected by bouquet changes, well, it will if the provider updates the LCN to be within the allowed range].
