Official 4.2 release for Ubuntu?
Added by Michael Tandrup over 7 years ago
Hi
I'm a long time user of TVheadend.
But I just can't figure out how to upgrade to the official 4.2 release (not the stable and unstable releases).
My distro is Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.
If I add "https://dl.bintray.com/tvheadend/deb xenial release-4.2" to my sources.list, do an apt-get-update
followed by apt-cache policy tvheadend
, I get "Unable to locate package tvheadend".
Why is this?
If I add "https://dl.bintray.com/tvheadend/ubuntu stable main" instead, the newest version in the repository is 4.0.9.
Best regards

use "stable-4.2" instead of "release-4.2" as written in Debian/Ubuntu-section on the DL-Page.
rgds mad

"stable-4.2" gives me the latest stable version, which at the time of writing is 4.2.2-64.
It does not give me the latest official release.
The page you are referring to also mentions "release-4.2" as an option for build type.

Hasn't anyone had the same issue?
How does anyone install the official 4.2 release?

It seems the "release-4.2" builds weren't done for some reason, I've added a note on the apt page about this.

Just as a final note, I can now see, that the latest official release is avaiable in the release repository, and the apt page has been updated accordingly.
