MKV records and subtitle format: VLC and NMT can't read them
Added by Alexandre E over 7 years ago
Hello,
I am a french user of TVH, on a Synology NAS, with a networked tuner.
I manage to record .ts and .mkv files, but, have met two difficulties:
- .ts are not well read by my network video player (DUNE), as he doesn't see the different audio tracks
- .mkv have another problem: subtitles can't be read, neither on the Dune or VLC (codec error)
MKV are great for me, and I just wish I could change the subtitle format.
So I wondered if something could be done in the setting to fix that.
Regards
Alexandre

Or maybe I could also configure a new stream profile with .ts container, but with a different audio track configuration ?
I am a bit lost...
But would definitely love having audio tracks and subtitles ;-)
For information, the media player (DUNE), is able to read .ts files with different audio tracks and subtitles. I used to have such files with my previous recording system (using DVBLink)
PS: I just checked my old .ts files in VLC. Audio tracks are A/52 B AUDIO (aka E-AC3), just as the one produced by TVH...
But something must differ, as the network media player is able to read the audio tracks of the former, not the latter....
