Keep recordings

Added by Ash Guest over 7 years ago

is there anyway to flag recoding so they don't get accidentally deleted?

Scenario: unruly child deletes recordings by mistake in Kodi or unruly dog randomly sits on remote and comes very close to deleting recordings in Kodi... is there a flag (or could there be a flag) that "keeps" the recoding until user physically "unflags" the recording.....

PS parental training/dog training may also be an option!

Put things you want to keep in a separate directory where Kodi only has read access?

Use one user to create/manage recordings and create another user with "view all" but not "manage all" permissions for "Video Recorder". Then train yourself to always log out of the privileged user and log back in as the unprivileged user. As annoying as that may be, it is far easier than trying to train the kids and dog (which is impossible!) :)

BTW - if you do end up creating some recordings/autorecs as the unprivileged user, just remember to login as admin on the web interface and change the owner...

But, it would certainly be nice if tvheadend implemented a trash can for deleted recordings which could be purged after x days or if recording space is needed. I have been meaning to create a feature request for this, but seems there is always something more important to do... maybe now is a good time.
