freenet TV USB Tuner
Added by Achim S. over 7 years ago
Hi,
The first official TV Tuner for the new German DVB-T2 standard was released yesterday.
The "freenet TV USB TV-Stick" is the only tuner which can descramble the private channels.
I want to know if someone is able to use this tuner with tvheadend. There are no official Linux drivers and the tuner doesn't show up on my webinterface.

What are the results of lsusb

?

I made this screenshot on a raspberry pi 2 (Raspbian).
The first output is from "/var/log/messages", after I connected the device.
"dmesg | grep dvb" doesn't give me an output.

Sorry for late reply only just seen this. Looks like that device isn't recognised as a DVB device by the build of Linux you are using. If the device is new (which I guess it will be) it could be that nobody has written a Linux driver (or modified an existing one) for that device yet.
I'm guessing you don't see anything in /dev/dvb (and get an error if you try?)

Yes, the device is new. (Released one month ago)
Yes, I get an error:ls: Zugriff auf /dev/dvb nicht möglich: Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden
(File or directory not found)
Thanks for your help. I hope somebody will write a driver.
As far as i know, the device uses libusb.
