Tvheadend HTSP client - Connection lost
Added by Luca Cimarelli over 7 years ago
I've installed Openelec 7.0.1 on a raspberry pi3 with Kodi 16.1 (TVheadend 7.0.3 + TVheadend HTSP Client 2.2.20). I'm watching and recording liveTV with an Hauppauge wintv-soloHD (dvb-t) and everything works great until internet connection is on. But when I goes offline liveTv stops working and a message pop-up on the screen "Tvheadend HTSP client - connection lost". What I have to do?

There have been issues in the past with LE's build of Tvheadend not working properly when the device does not have an internet connection. I believe it is related to LE's config of Tvheadend and how it chooses to have TVH bind to an address/interface.
I'm afraid I can't help more as I stay away from LE. Your best option would probably be the LE support avenues, since I believe this particular problem is specific to LE.

LE is LibreELEC, which is the continuation on OpenELEC (OE). OpenELEC is not really maintained/developed any longer, and most of the developers who were working on it have moved on to the LibreELEC project.
With LibreELEC, if Tvheadend started up before the system had internet access then there was a problem with Tvheadend binding to any network interface, and it became unreadable. (I may be misremembering the exact details, but I believe this is close enough.) Perhaps your situation is related.
Since the OpenELEC developers have changed Tvheadend's and settings as part of their system, I suggest you ask in their support forums as the issue is most likely related to something with OpenELEC specifically rather than Tvheadend.

Maybe OSMC would be better than LE or OPENELEC?
