Failed Recording

Added by Mark M over 7 years ago

Hi, Guys for some reason my recording of 'Eastenders' failed tonight with status 'Time Missed'
It successfully recorded another program on the same channel later in the evening.
The failed recording was at 20:00 27/02/17
I have enclosed the log.
Any advice would be most appreciated.

The "Coronation" recording stars okay (see tuned data) but the overlapping "East" recording doesn't tune. I see you have two dual tuners (dvb-s, dvb-c/t) but I only see references in the logs to frontend #0. Not sure if this is normal for these cards or not? Does your config show two dvb-s and two dvbc/t tuners?

Maybe similar issue here: [[https://tvheadend.org/boards/5/topics/25067?r=25114]]

RE: Failed Recording - Added by Mark M over 7 years ago

Yes there are 1 dvb-t card with a dual output, I have tried linking them now, see if that helps

RE: Failed Recording - Added by Joe User over 7 years ago

You can test by trying to watch two dvb-t channels at the same time (each on different muxes). Maybe easiest is to use the two channels above - STV (fw) and BBC 1 Scot) HD (fv).

RE: Failed Recording - Added by Mark Clarkstone over 7 years ago

Just to add, using "Linked Input" won't solve your issue, in fact it might make things worse. Linked Input is for dual tuners that fail to tune on one input when both tuners aren't used at the same time.

As Joe says above, test it by playing two streams from two different muxes.

RE: Failed Recording - Added by Mark M over 7 years ago

Yes, I have just checked and both tuners are working as I watch 2 channels on difference muxes simultaneously.
I can also watch one channel and record another from that tuner.
Seems very strange

RE: Failed Recording - Added by Mark M over 7 years ago

I think I may have worked out what the problem is, I am not sure why this has happened but maybe it is the cause.
The 2 BBC1 channels on the 2 tuners are named differently.
'BBC One Scot HD' & 'BBC 1 Scot HD' and even more strangely they have different frequencies.
Would I be right in guessing this would cause the problem?

I don't have these channels displaying on the client I keep them solely for series record.

RE: Failed Recording - Added by Joe User over 7 years ago

Sorry, but the picture is cut off and I can only see one of the channels you mention b .

Can you play both channels?

If they are really different channels (different tuner/frequencies) then having different names is probably more helpful and not a problem. MAyeb you can post your dvb input and network configs.
