HDHomeRun DVB-T reporting as DVB-C in TVHeadend
Added by Clayton Sherly almost 8 years ago
I just purchased a HDHomeRun DVB-T running the latest firmware which I am able to access using the native HDHomeRun Kodi app or the app on my OSX Laptop. I can watch all channels correctly. The issue I am having is that TVHeadend is listing my tuner as DVB-C which is incorrect. It will only allow me to assign DVB-C networks to my card so I don't get any channels in TVHeadend.
I have tried TVHeadend 4.1 in a unraid docker and the Libreelec TVHeadend 4.2 app. Both report it as DVB-C.
Has anyone else seen this issue before? How can I tell TVHeadend its a DVB-T tuner?

The Tvheadend interface for the HDHomeRun tuners assigns a type upon first seeing the device based open what the device reports its name as. If you are using an older version of libhdhomerun (or if your Tvheadend was compiled statically against the older version) it may not know what type it is: I believe DVB-C is the default it uses.
In the Tvheadend interface, select the HDHR device (the parent of the "Tuner #0" and "Tuner #1" entries) and change its network type manually to DVB-T. It will save the override so the next time you restart Tvheadend it will continue to use your DVB-T setting.

You may need to change the "View Level" of your web interface to see the setting, but here is a screenshot of what it looks like:
