USB DVB-T stick found, but no channels
Added by Peter B. almost 8 years ago
I've managed to configure a network (Austria / "at-All"), and therefore have a list of channels in muxes.
Yet, I don't get any channels :(
(tvheadend service add-on v4.2 / LibreELEC 7.0.2 / Kodi 16.0.1 Jarvis)
The log panel contains lines which look like it was scanning, but hasn't found anything:
2016-12-21 00:12:24.138 mpegts: 786MHz in Austria - tuning on Silicon Labs Si2168 : DVB-T #0 2016-12-21 00:12:24.143 eit: registering mux 786MHz in Austria 2016-12-21 00:12:24.149 subscription: 0037: "scan" subscribing to mux "786MHz", weight: 5, adapter: "Silicon Labs Si2168 : DVB-T #0", network: "Austria", service: "Raw PID Subscription" 2016-12-21 00:12:29.143 mpegts: 786MHz in Austria - scan no data, failed 2016-12-21 00:12:29.143 subscription: 0037: "scan" unsubscribing
I'm using DVB-T TT-TVStick (CT2-4400) with the provided (mini) antenna.
Is there any way to check if the stick would work - or if I just haven't gotten any reception?
Thanks in advance!

install w_scan & see if that throws something out.

I've now done some additional research, and it seems that they've completely replaced DVB-T with DVB-T2 in Austria, so it's most likely that I'm simply not receiving any DVB-T signal.
But anyways:
Is there a way of checking if the stick would work?
Like with analog tuner cards, I knew at least that if I get noise, I get "something"
Thanks anyways!

Er, the Silicon Labs Si2168 is a DVB-T2 tuner so it should work!

You're right: The tuner itself is DVB-T/T2 capable.
But I haven't read into if (and how) tvheadend is told to do DVB-T2 (instead of DVB-T).

You can manually add a mux and pick DVB-T2 as the delivery system..

Thank you very much for that information!
I'll try it as soon as I get a connection to the roof antenna
