Still looking for a good SAT>IP FTA receiver
Added by Ron Von almost 8 years ago
Well I am still looking for a good SAT>IP FTA receiver. I find lots of stuff sort of, but practically all of it seems to be on web sites that look like they are here today gone tomorrow. Surely someone can help get me started by recommending some brand name FTA receivers that have SAT>IP output for use in Canadian market.
Does anyone have a working setup that they can tell about?
Thanks again.

I believe that TVHeadEnd when paired with a DVB-S2 tuner card can act as a SAT>IP receiver. See these articles:
The never final, always subject to revision article on how to build a Satellite TV PVR distribution system using TVHeadEnd - https://freetoairamerica.wordpress.com/2016/11/24/the-never-final-always-subject-to-revision-article-on-how-to-build-a-satellite-tv-pvr-distribution-system-using-tvheadend/
Using Tvheadend as a SAT>IP Server - http://oapeon.blogspot.com/2016/04/using-tvheadend-as-satip-server.html
I'm not sure there are any standalone receivers designed for the North American market that output SAT>IP.

Well there are lots of them, cable TV companies use them all the time. But those things are 'big' devices, lots of capabilities, and of course come with a price tag that is out of reach for 99% of the home users. If only I was a millionaire. Maybe I need to go looking on ebay. :-)

Hi,
I live in germany and use a Digibit R1 SAT>IP device.
Runs pretty good with TVH 4.1.2389 - even not 100% productive.
Maybe that helps.
Many greets
