IPTV source - can I create Services from the Muxes without a scan somehow?
Added by Alex Damhuis almost 8 years ago
Hi there,
I am experimenting with using an IPTV provider to access Dutch TV here in Germany. So I have a working .m3u and I can use this with VLC, but when I add it to TVH i get all the Muxes. The problem now is that the provider blocks my IP (spam and load protection) after a certain while when I run the scan to create the services...
Is there a way I a not seeing that I can jump over the scan and create a service for every mux? I assume the scan is required to detect the PIDs, which are the same for each stream and I would be happy to enter them manually somewhere, but I also did not find a way to modify the PID info via the UI.
Any hint is highly appreciated.
Cheers

PS: First post - thanks for the great software!

As far as I am aware, Services are only created from scanning a Mux. I do not believe there is a way to manually create a Service (which is a shame and annoying, I agree.)

Actually it works by manually "playing" the mux, it then creates the service. By that I can avoid the IP ban from the provider, but with potentially 150 channels in the m3u I would like to add to my setup that will take a while haha.
A nice feature would be to overwrite PIDs and batch create the services for such providers. Unfortunately the data in the muxes files seems to be binary... I could not find the service reference, ... so I assume it is included in the mux file once the scan is completed.
Maybe one of the devs has an idea on this.

Did u find a way around this? My m3u has 700 channels and the only ones it automaps to a service are weirdly the XXX and the music channels.
I was using my list in Plex but have my devices can't work with the streams. Tvheadend seems to work with the problem channels fine but adding over 700 manually is keeping me from changing. My provider allows me 8 connections so it shouldn't be getting blocked

In network settings enter maximum # of input streams. My provider allows max 3 simultaneous connections so I entered max. 3 streams, then it scanned m3u 3 channels at the time.
