Raspberry Pi as Tvheadend server
Added by Josu Lazkano almost 8 years ago
Hello,
I want to install Tvheadened in a Raspberry Pi. The idea is to configure as SAT>IP, I will add a USB DVB-S2 device.
I have some questions:
- Which distribution could I use?
- Is there any good repo for rpi? Or need I compile it for myself?
- I want to connect this SAT>IP server to a main Tvheadeend server, clients for main server could record some channels, where will the recordings store? in the SAT-IP server or in the main server?
I will appreciate any help and experience on it.
Best regards.

Hello again,
I installed Jessi Raspbian lite image on the Raspberry Pi model B.
The problem is that there is no packages in both official repositories:
deb http://apt.tvheadend.org/unstable jessie main deb https://dl.bintray.com/tvheadend/deb jessie unstable
How could I get a working package for mi Pi?
I will appreciate your help.
Kind regards.

If you just want to create a SAT>IP server to send the DVB-S2 stream elsewhere (other TVHeadend server) then I recommend looking at minisatip. It is a very lightweight simple SAT>IP server.

Thanks Anthony,
I will try minisatip, but I want to try Tvheadend in the Raspberry Pi.
Is there someone with Raspberry Pi as Tvheadened server?
Best regards.

Yes, I'm using a Pi2 as a TVheadend server running Raspbian Jessie.
Its recording from a DVB-T usb tuner (AF9015) to a USB stick, but will also serve live tv to another Pi3 running libreelec/Kodi.
I followed the instuctions here:

Dont forget to add the firmware for your tuner.
