OMV / TVHE No web access
Added by Michael Estruch about 8 years ago
Hello,
Following an update in OMV about TVHE I lost the connection with TVHE. This is not the first time it happens.
So I have to completely uninstall and re install.
Apt-get remove –purge tvheadend
And now I install
root@NAS:~# apt-get install tvheadend

Some solutions:
sudo dpkg-reconfigure tvheadend
If that fails see here for backdoor access.
RE: OMV / TVHE No web access - Added by Michael Estruch about 8 years ago
Thanks for your answers.
root@NAS:~# dpkg-reconfigure tvheadend
Stopping Tvheadend: tvheadend.
Starting Tvheadend: tvheadend.
I reconfigured login and password but i doesn't work.
when I run the web page 9981 does not work....
RE: OMV / TVHE No web access - Added by Michael Estruch about 8 years ago
In fact I explain can be bad, but when I go to the page IP:9981 I do not have the ability to put the login and password.
firefox put "connection failed"

Sounds like it's not even running, check if it is:
ps -ef | grep tvheadend
if that doesn't list tvheadend's binary then something is stopping tvheadend from starting, check the daemon log for errors (/var/log/daemon.log).
RE: OMV / TVHE No web access - Added by Michael Estruch about 8 years ago
I'm sorry but I do not know linux.
I do not even know what the result should give
root@NAS:~# ps -ef | grep tvheadend
root 30034 30018 0 13:31 pts/0 00:00:00 grep tvheadend

That output suggests it isn't running, you need to investigate why.
A start would be to look into /var/log/daemon.log.
view it using nano..
sudo nano /var/log/daemon.log

Looks like you're missing the bzip2 package. Running:
sudo apt-get install tar bzip2
Should install the missing package(s) & hopefully it should start again.

Glad to hear you got it working and sorry it took so long for someone to reply, unfortunately there aren't many of us around at the moment.
