Questions on TVHeadend by a newbie

Added by salvatore d'angelo about 8 years ago

Hi All,

I am a newbie and I am using OSMC on Raspberry . I installed TVHeadend and I configured it and I am able to see Live TV.
The main reason I decided to have Live TV on Kodi is to record some TV program but I have few questions. Consider that I come live in Italy.

1. I noticed that the only way to record TV program is through the Guide or scheduling a timer. Obviously the first method is more easy. The problem is that the TV Guide OTA has only the current and next program, and some channels even do not provide them. Is there another method to have a TV Guide more complete and for a week?
2. I have only 1 TV cable attached on a DVB-T USB attached to my Raspberry. I noticed that when I record a TV program and try to see a TV program an error message appear saying that an adapter is not available. The strange thing is that if I click more time then it works. The thing is very annoying because sometime I have to click lot of time before see the TV show.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Forgot to mention another request.

How I can remove ads from TV programs recorded?

On this guide:

I found that MCEBuddy does ths job but it seems a post process tool. Is there an Add On on Kodi that does the same on the fly during the recording?
Thanks

If you want additional guide information, usually you have to pay for it. Who provides the data varies by your location usually.

As far as removing commercials, there is comskip. But, as with MCEBuddy, it is after the fact. (In fact, comskip is the engine/tool that handles the commercial flagging for MCEBuddy.) However, there is no addon for Kodi that does this on the fly.

Hi,
Thank you for your answer. Regarding comskip I read I can do this:

What about question 2? How I can solve this issue? It's not clear to me if with a single TV cable/TV USB Receiver I can watch TV and Record at the same time.

Another question is:

does an android app exists that allow to control my tvheadend backend on KODI. Let me explain what I want to do. This app should have a TV Guide, I select the program and click REC. The TV program recording is scheduled on server. When the TV program TV start it is recorded automatically.

I don't know about recording on a Pi but on an Intel platform once I have a mux tuned up I can watch/record anything on that mux.
Yes there are apps in the 'play' store with epg, and Kodi is available.
