TV Vlaanderen + Digital Devices Cine-S2
Added by David Callebaut about 8 years ago
I have the following setup:
- Ubuntu 16.04LTS - fully updated
- Digital Devices Cine-S2 (V6.5) + DuoFluo CI
- TVH version 4.1.2154
I've followed the instructions to install the drivers as per http://support.digital-devices.eu/knowledgebase.php?article=152
The FTA channels work perfectly ok:

But scrambled channels don't show and no error is generated. The CAM's and CI's have been tested with other (hardware) receivers and has worked on a setup with MythTV on the same PC before (including scrambling).

Why can't I see scrambled streams? In a reply in the "recommended hardware" posts I see Paul Farquhar confirming that the DD equipment should work.
Any tips what I may be doing wrong here? any idea's how I can get the scrambled streams to work?

Nobody with any idea??

I have been using DD devices with Oscam and a cheap card reader Omnikey 3121 for years, works wonders with a Canal Digitaal card.
RE: TV Vlaanderen + Digital Devices Cine-S2 - Added by Gert Jansen about 8 years ago
How are you using the TVVlaanderen card?
Do you have a USB-cardreader where you put the card (Smargo, TBS Crystal/Phoenix Smartmouse) and use oscam, or does the DVB-S receiver have a CI-slot and did you put it there?
I believe the second option won't work.
I have a setup with 4 DVB-S2 receivers, a card reader for my TVVlaanderen card and a second card reader for my Canal Digitaal card, both connected to my Oscam server, and as a result I can see all channels on all 4 of my receivers.
So it definitely can be done.
I don't have a DD device, but I don't think that is part of the problem.

Hi Gert,
My setup is using CI-slots.
For the DD equipment see:
tuner = https://digitaldevices.de/products/dvb_components/cine_s2_v7/
CI = https://digitaldevices.de/products/dvb_components/duoflex_ci/
The CI is internally directly connected to the tuner card.
Since TVV does not sell/support any CAM-only cards anymore but only the "M7" CI's with build-in CAM (see http://www.deschotelshop.be/smartcard-and-ci-modules/m7-cam-701-canal-digitaal-ci-module-smartcard) I can't use any softCAM solution hence I'm stuck here
Any options you can think of?
thanks beforehand

Hm , it sucks that you could only get a CI+ module and not a smartcard.
I have been experimenting with a Telenet setup "Teleent met een kaartje" where I had to use a CI-module as well as I couldn't get it work with Oscam.
For that I had a Terratec H7 with a CI-slot.
Just a stupid question: did you enable the ca0-slot in TVHeadend. By default it is disabled.
I assume you did, but just to be sure...
What is the status of the ca0 in Configuration->DVB Inputs -> TV Adapters?
IIRC it could have 3 states: ca0:disabled (default), ca0: empty, ca0: ready (or similar)
To get that Telenet-setup working, I had to add a fake CA-client.
Configuration -> CAs
Add
Type = CAPMT
Client name and Comment -> not important
Mode = OSCam (rev >= 9095)
Camd.socket file = /tmp/camd.socket
Listen/connect port = 9000
Without this fake (and unrelated) CA, I could not decrypt any channels at all.
Maybe you could give that a try?
I got my info here (https://tvheadend.org/issues/2794)
This way I got it working for the CI with the Telenet card, and without Oscam.
I don't have that setup anymore, so there's not much I can try at this moment...
Can you can try and see if this works for you?
RE: TV Vlaanderen + Digital Devices Cine-S2 - Added by David Callebaut about 8 years ago
I feel stupid now!!
While I was trying all sorts of things I never really looked at the CA tab... so I have not setup anything in there
Let me try setting that up and I'll let you know if it worked!
David

One thing I don't see as you mentioned is the ca0-slot you refer too.
Where should I find that? Can't see it anywhere... (see screenshot)
RE: TV Vlaanderen + Digital Devices Cine-S2 - Added by Gert Jansen about 8 years ago
I have added a screenshot of my Terratec H7 (DVB-C + DVB-T) which I used for the Telenet tests
and a second one of my TBS QBox which also has a CI-slot but I have never used that.
Apparently your DD-device and my TBS-device use the same chip: STV090x
-- EDIT
Just something else: are you using a pre-built version from the repository or did you compile your own TVHeadend?

I probably have to start over again...the ca0 does not appear at all... so.. Before I posted this message on this forum I was in contact with the DD helpdesk who tried to help me as much as possible.
However that may have rendered the system into an "unstable" state. So I will plan a full re-install, just to be sure I'm working with the right stuff.
Will post once done :-)
RE: TV Vlaanderen + Digital Devices Cine-S2 - Added by David Callebaut about 8 years ago
Okay...
after a lot of delay I was finally able to spend some time to this :-)
What have I done:
- completely re-installed Ubuntu 16.04LTS
- build and enabled the drivers for the DD CineS2 + Duo Flex
- installed tvheadend from the PPA stable repo
Did the config of tvheadend. First observation: there are no CA interfaces shown in the DVB config.
Adding networks triggered a scan which works ok. Adding a boutique (TV Vlaanderen HD) adds correctly the channels.
The EPG is loaded correctly (OTA).
Non-scrambled channels work perfectly.
However... scrambled channels = same as before. No picture and no error.
The config of the driver of the CA modules is done as described here:
https://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Digital_Devices_DuoFlex_C%26T#Adding_CI
This wiki-page is actually referred to by the (very helpful) support of DD.
I think the issue is that the tvheadend is expecting packets from frontend0 or frontend1 while the de-scrambled packets come through demux0 or demux1. However I'm not an expert.
How could I get this issue through to the dev's to have a look at it?
Any tips are welcome!

Does anybody have any idea, tip(s) or advice?
Can anybody tell me how I could bring this to the attention of the developers?
It would find it a tremendous pity if I would be forced to use some Window$ solution (e.g. MediaPortal) as they do seem to support the hardware.. I don't like having Micro$oft on my network, so... please let me know what I could do..
Any help is very much welcome! ;-)
