Looking for help with m3u files
Added by Rich Brown about 8 years ago
Good Day To All,
I have read about every document I can find online abouit using an m3u file with TV headend and not a single one has resolved my questions. Every one is also different I might add. So my question is this, I have a stream from a IPTV reseller who provides a number of formatted m3u files, for example:
M3U with Options
1. HLT
2. MPPEGTS - Default
M3U
1. HLT
2. MPPEGTS - Default
Simple List
1. HLT
2. MPPEGTS - Default
This list goes on for what seems like other hardware media boxes. When you select one of these links, it will download an M3U formatted to those specifications. Now with TVHeadend 4.0.9 how do I use these files? I have tried just inputing the link to those M3U files in a mux with no success. I have downloaded the m3u and tried file://location/of/m3u with no success. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks
Rich Brown

I am not sure that 4.0.9 supports M3Us, which are playlist files.
In 4.1, you use your M3U file as the source for an Automatic IPTV network, which then scans each stream named in the playlist, and adds those streams as muxes.
