Ok, thanks so If my DVB-T is higher priority and it goes down, but DVB-S is still online itll auto-pick that i guess?

With default settings TVHeadend will use either DVB-T or DVB-S tuner in your configuration - if you want one to be prioritised over the other then you need to set the "Priority" and "Streaming Priority" fields in the Configuration > DVB Inputs > TV Adapters tab - a higher value means "use this tuner over another".

In my setup, I have my DVB-T tuners (4 of them) set to priority 10 for both settings and my DVB-S tuners (again 4 of them) set to zero. That means that TVHeadend will almost always choose a DVB-T tuner to watch a service that is available on both systems leaving my DVB-S cards free for channels only available on satellite.

Yes. When TVHeadend does the "warm up" procedure (approximately 30 seconds before a recording or immediately on streaming a live channel) it will check if the DVB-T variant is available and if it is it will use it, if not it will use the DVB-S variant.

I actually tested this today buy pulling the cable on my DVB-T tuners (whilst trying to work out a signal problem) - all my recordings continued unaffected using DVB-S.

I have not seen if TVHeadend can do this in realtime (switch from one to the other during a stream or recording if one goes AWOL) - that would be cool!

Alright, thanks I might try pulling a cable on a combined channel while streaming to see what happens.
