IPTV Recording Issues
Added by David Collins over 8 years ago
Hi,
First of all, I want to say thanks for all the help I've had from this forum. I've only just registered but I've been looking on here for a while and I'm in the process of writing a guide for the setup I've built.
I'm running TVH 4.1 on an RPI3 on Raspbian. I have a MN88473 DVB-T2 tuner and a number of .ts IPTV services which I access through a Kodi frontend. The DVB channels record fine but the IPTV channels are dropping out after anywhere between 30s and 25 minutes; all that happens is the bandwidth of the subscription drops to 0 and nothing else is recorded. The TVH log doesn't show anything when the recording stops.
Any ideas?

Have you tried enabling the 'restart on error' feature for the streaming profile you are using?

Sorry for the delay in responding - I've been away this week. I tried this and it didn't help. IPTV channels (and I've tried feeds from a number of sources) stop recording randomly after anything from a few seconds to a few minutes. DVB-T2 channels using the same profile record fine.
Any more ideas?
EDIT - If it helps to diagnose the issue, the recording doesn't actually stop, the stream bandwidth just drops to 0 and no more video is recorded. There is nothing in the TVH log when this happens.

OK, it looks like this is a known issue:

I used ffmpeg pipe as a workaround as the bug log suggests, which worked perfectly.
