Transcoding Recordings

Are there any plans to support transcoding of recorded TV played via TVH? I use TVH (via Kodi running on an Amazon Fire TV) in hotel rooms whilst I'm away on business and the ability to reduce the bandwidth via transcoding makes a massive difference to my ability to watch live TV but recorded TV is played "as-recorded" (so HD recordings are completely unplayable over wifi).

Would be fantastic if TVH served up recorded content using the same transcoding parameters as per live TV.

What's the file format? Generally, you can use key words to find related software via google.
Here has some common video converters which may be helpful...
