How to scan for analog cable channels?
Added by Guillaume Soucy over 8 years ago
Hi everyone!
I try to setup Tvheadend on my Linux Mint machine, the back-end seem to be installed because when I go to 127.0.0.1:9981 I can login to the interface. My TV tuner seem to be recognised because I say this: Samsung S5H1411 QAM/8VSB Frontend : ATSC #0 and this also: Samsung S5H1411 QAM/8VSB Frontend : DVB-C #0 . I assign the TV tuner to the network entry I have created named Cogeco, which is my analogue cable provider. But when I go to: Configuration -> DVB Inputs -> Networks and then I click on "Force Scan" nothing happen.
How I need to configure this?
Thanks!
Guillaume

Tvheadend only works for digital signals (ATSC/DVB/ISDB), not analog ones, and according to your post, you have a digital tuner. Can you use the tuner on other apps like vlc, opening it as a capture device and manually choosing a known working frequency? As far as I know, most cables encrypt the digital signal, so it won't probably work for you.
