Odd initial settings

Added by Maury Markowitz over 8 years ago

I re-installed my TVH by compiling from source - there was no apt for my platform so I had to git it, et al. Everything went semi-ok, but I've been faced with repeated instances of the initial setup being unsuitable for actual running.

In this particular case, it appears the wizard set the recording directory to /root. I don't recall it ever asking me about this during setup. Did I miss this?

In any event, it seems that this directory should be specifically outlawed, no?

It looks like you're running Tvheadend as root, Tvheadend will by default use the home directory of the user it's running as..

So then if its running as root, wouldn't it be able to write to root?
