TvHeadend not connevting to ITE 9135 USB Stick after upgrade
Added by T Roe over 8 years ago
Hi There,
I have a ITE 9135 USB Stick that used to work under TVheadend 3.0 after upgrading to the newer version it stopped working. So after a few attempts at fixing it, I have to admit I don't know what I'm doing, I'm asking for some help.
Tvheadend 4. (I've tried, release and stable) lists the Generic ITE9135 card but doesn't have any channel info etc. I can't see where to start a rescan from.
The system is lubuntu 14.04 64bit with the latest up dates.
When the new Tvheadend update came out I checked that I had the most up to date drivers and I do.
The obsolete version is no longer compatible with Kodi 16 Jarvis hence my need to upgrade.
All of the searching I have done hasn't provided a solution.
I would appreciate any help.

Fixed it by upgrading Tvheadend to unstable. Hopefully it will continue to work.

Hi, I am expiriencing the same issue - ITE9135 doesn't work and there's this message in Dmesg:
[ 19.908517] usb 1-1.5: DVB: adapter 2 frontend 0 frequency 0 out of range (174000000..862000000) [ 21.119252] usb 1-1.4: DVB: adapter 1 frontend 0 frequency 0 out of range (174000000..862000000) [ 21.319905] usb 1-1.4: DVB: adapter 0 frontend 0 frequency 0 out of range (174000000..862000000)
What version (commit) solved your problem? I perform build from the repository about 2 weeks agou.

Hi There,
To be exact what I did
Removed Tvheadend with Synaptic package manager
changed the repository setting from obsolete to unstable through Software and Updates
Re-installed Tvheadend with Synaptic
Opened Firefox and went to the Tvheadend page (192.168.2.*:9981)
Unlike other attempts this time the setup wizard started and I went through the process.
I receive my signal from a relay station so there was no preset values available, I just picked one that was geographically close.
Once the wizard was finished there was no signal but there were some muxes setup.
There was also a mux of 192mhz or something close that had no services perhaps this is the source of the out of frequency message.
Going to configuration, I was able to edit these Muxes to the correct frequencies I got from internet search, National broadcaster website, but if you have a regular tv they may show the channels that are being used. You can then use a table like here to find the frequencies http://www.saortv.info/terrestrial-saorview/tuning-saorview/
I did a scan and picked up the channels needed. Of course I missed that there were two pages of services the first couple of times ( located on bottom left of screen) so I thought I only had some channels. They were on the second page.
If I was to do it again I might just try and add the muxes manually the first time I upgraded and save myself a lot, I mean a lot, of time.
I hope this helps. I'm no expert as can be seen from the above.
All the best,
T
