Another problem :( this time with viewing

Added by Rob Mccombe almost 9 years ago

Hi everyone. So tonight watching tv I have noticed some of my channels show up like the following pictures, can anyone help. If I restart the raspberry pi, which is what I use to view with it works again for say 5 mins.
Cheers.

Check the value in /boot/config.txt

Hi Mark, thank you for you time again. I have just checked the .txt file you told me but I don't have that file on my pi, I do however have this one flash/config.txt which I bwleive has the info you asked for.

Thank you

Memory (System/GPU configuration )
##################################################################$# default GPU memory split (do not change if you do not know what $ gpu_mem=128
  1. SDRAM size based GPU memory split, uncomment and setup to overri$ gpu_mem_256=112 gpu_mem_512=160 gpu_mem_1024=256

Depending on your Pi version you could try increasing the memory..

change gpu_mem_1024=256 to gpu_mem_1024=512.

Hi,
Changed the gpu_mem but still the problem remains.
It will do it every time, I open live tv, BBC one, press channel up and as soon as I reach channel 4 the picture goes and this happens to quite a lot of channels but not all.
If I restart the pi and load channel 4 straight away it will work until I change channel 3-4 Times then it will happen again.

Cheers

Sounds like an omxplayer issue - I'd open a ticket on whatever OS your using (Openelec?).

Update.

Didn't realise I needed to purchase a raspberry pi mpeg2 licence.

All is good now :)

Cheers Mark.
