Added by David g almost 9 years ago
I have about 3 dvb-t channels on same frequency.
How can I find the direct streaming link to my channel ?
If I go to configuration/channel epg/channel/play I download the file and is working but I need the direct link
thanks in advanced

Hi
On wiki you have information on how to obtain a playlist
http://docs.tvheadend.org/Appendices/faqs/
then you open file and pick needed information

Or you could just remove the /play/ path from the URL..

thanks for the quick replies.
when I click on
http://ip:port/playlist it is asking me for username/password, how can I remove that ?
also if I want to compress the channels is it possible to reduce the bandwidth usage ?

Create an extremely limited asterisk user..
e.g.
Don't forget to change the network prefix if you want outside access, but be warned anyone will be able to stream/view services while an anon account is active..
Also remember to add an asterisk account (*) to the passwords tab (enter an asterisk in the password field)..

You'll more than likely have to use transcoding if your hardware is up to it then add the profile param to the url..
e.g..
http://ip:port/stream/<id>?profile=webtv-vp8-vorbis-webm

I got the channel link by right click on the vlc channel/information and coped the location url
then added the
is this right just adding the command at the end of the line does the transcoding ?

Yes but get rid of the ticket variable I don't think you need it.

My issue is here.
I have a pc at home with dvb-t which has limited bandwidth (I need to compress from here)
remote server (doesnt have an issue of bandwidth)
If I use the command of transcoding on the remote server I will still have the issue from my home pc to the remote server
