TvHeaden No TvAdapter Listed

Added by yury lafontaine almost 9 years ago

I installed the latest version of Raspbian Wheezy, along with the latest version of TvHeadend. updated Raspbian with all latest updates. and TvHeadend Does not list my HD-Homerun TvAdapters. I check the /etc directory for dvb* files are none are there.

Is there any current information on how to install DVB drivers (i think that is what i need) on fresh systems?

Raspbian version kernel - Linux raspberrypi 4.1.15-v7+ #830 SMP Tue Dec 15 17:02:45 GMT 2015 armv7l GNU/Linux
TvHeadend = 4.0.8

Thank you for the assistance,

hdhomerun are usually network tuners & do not need any drivers installed.

You need to make sure that you've built/have tvheadend with libhdhomerun compiled in.

What repository did you use? Or have you built it yourself?

I compiled and installed libhdhomerun http://www.silicondust.com/support/downloads/linux/

also used the Raspbian repo

deb http://archive.raspbian.org/raspbian wheezy main contrib non-free
deb-src http://archive.raspbian.org/raspbian wheezy main contrib non-free

Is there a preferred repo that Tvheadend should be installed from?

I would like to report that I am having the issue with my HDHomeRun EXTEND with tvheadend ver. 4.0.8-3.

I upgraded to that version from 4.0.7 using the stable branch from the official repos from the below link:

http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=255190

When I go to Configuration->DVB Inputs there is nothing under TV Adaptors.

Also it worked with 4.0.7. With 4.0.8 after a reboot I had to do a "sudo service tvheadend restart" to get the adaptors appear under TC Adaptors, now nothing appears.

I am leading to believe this is a bug with 4.0.8 or some consistencies in versions across the repositories.

on my NUC - I performed a clean install from the "Official Apt repository" ("http://dl.bintray.com/tvheadend/deb release)" )and TvHeadend would not find the adapters. I preformed another clean install on the same machine and used the "Legacy Bintray Repo" - (http://dl.bintray.com/dreamcat4/ubuntu release) and all went fine. Adapters were picket up.

FYI- i know there have been some changes in the past few days with the repo's

I am now trying he same process on the Raspberry PI (Wheezy), from the documentation it does not look like Wheezy is supported. lets hope it is picked up on the first go!

I have also seen the"bug" where the adapters disappear and TvHeadend needs to be restart (sudo service tvheadend restart) - a machine reboot will not work.
