Do you see it on the configuration -> DVB Inputs -> TV Adapters Tab?

Hi,
I just see indeed the tab when I go there to.
I also see the folder of TV adapters.
but nothing else underneath

Ok. I had a similar thing. When I upgraded my software it unchecked enable on my tv adapter. Have you confirmed at the OS level that you machine sees the tuner?

Yes,
I can ping it and the tool form HDHomeRun can discover it.

+1 having exactly the same problem. Clean install, no hdhomerun.
RE: No tv adapters - Added by Jan-Jaap Stam almost 9 years ago
Is the binary compiled with hdhomerun support? On Arch Linux, I had to set this compile flag manually.
Update: Okay, so it wans't necessarily a compile flag. See https://tvheadend.org/boards/5/topics/13610?r=13628#message-13628. It seems you need to make sure that /usr/include/libhdhomerun/hdhomerun.h exists so that TVHeadend detects it during compile time :). On my system that file is provided by the package libhdhomerun.
Good luck

+1 Seeing the same problem, no HDHomeRun devices listed under TV Adapters.
This is running 4.1-precise on Ubuntu 15.04. Not compiling myself, just using what's in the unstable repo and doing apt-get install tvheadend
I've just done an apt-get purge tvheadend and then reinstalled and still see the same problem, so it's on the current build.
However uninstalling and changing the repo source to the stable repo and reinstalling to get 4.0.8 I see the device listed, seems to be a problem with what's in the current unstable branch.

hi Richard,
That's weird, because I have that problem with both version.
hi Jan-Jaap Stam,
I have done https://tvheadend.org/projects/tvheadend/wiki/AptRepository. But i cannot find this file.
/usr/include/libhdhomerun/hdhomerun.h
Update: I see they now put on another server.

Seems to be a bug.
https://tvheadend.org/issues/3484
I've installed 4.1-1221~g66e5d27 and my hdhomerun is now detected.

I've tested this on a clean Debian Jessie install. Seems that libhdhomerun-dev provides /usr/include/libhdhomerun/hdhomerun.h, but that package isn't a dependency for tvheadend in this repository (tested with stable and release). This is a problem because tvheadend looks for this file during compile-time. As such, I think that the latest binaries for TVHeadend don't include hdhomerun support. If you rebuild for your machine with libhdhomerun-dev installed, I think it will work.
I do not actually think that this is a bug since Scott Harris reports that release 1321 does in fact work.
Try to apt-get source, and rebuild via debian/rules binary (iirc, I don't use debian-like distros anymore ;)) with libhdhomerun-dev installed.
p.s. I've been using the bintray repo!

Hi Jan-jaap,
I find idd the package libhdhomerun-dev and now i can find the file.
I will tested with debian/rules binary.
Must look at how this works exactly
RE: No tv adapters - Added by Richard Kelsey almost 9 years ago
I spoke too soon. I'm seeing problems with 4.0.8 as well.
It was working, but when I later tried to connect using tvhclient from my Ipad it wouldn't stream and taking a look at the web interface it had 'lost' the hdhomerun adapters. Restarting the tvheadend service caused them to reappear.
With 4.1 no amount of restarting would cause them to appear though.

Hi Jan-jaap,
It is not really succeeded with the debian/rules binary.
Hopefully they come soon with a fix for this problem

Update,
they have been updated to the server.
See the following pages
https://bintray.com/tvheadend/ubuntu
https://bintray.com/dreamcat4/ubuntu/tvheadend/view
First remove the old version and then the new according to the new servers
echo deb https://dl.bintray.com/tvheadend/ubuntu stable main | sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list
It seems to work well again
