Synology tvheadend-testing 4.1.1233-1 from syno.dierkse.nl repository : authentication error

Added by Stuart Pearson almost 9 years ago

I have upgraded my tvheadend installation to 4.1.1233-1 on my synology NAS using the repository available on syno.dierkse.nl. The installs completes successfully however I cannot access the web interface, re-installing makes no difference. The web gui rejects the default username and password (admin/admin), I have also tried changing the username/password during the install process, this made no difference. I was previously using 4.1.988-1 with no issues.

The error lines from tvheadend.log are as follows:

Can anyone point me in the right direction to resolve the problem.

Same problem here!
The problem seems to be that the accesscontroll folder is with the wrong permissions.

I was able to fix this by changing the rights.

Try to do:

chown -R 100:100 /volume1/@appstore/tvheadend/var/accesscontroll

Please check if the group and user fits to your user in the nas.

My user was: tvheadend-4.0

Your info regarding permissions looks promising but both the working install (4.05-1) and the problem install (4.1.1233-1) appear to have the same settings. The only issue I see in the accesscontrol folder the newer version has a file name of 1, the working version looks like a hash code.

The file/folder structure for the two installs is as follows:

VERSION 4.05-1

i think the group should be "users" instead of root.

I tried it with users as the group but it made no difference :(

have you checked if chown has been done for all files and subfolders?

Maybe try to deinstall -> reboot -> install -> reboot -> change chown -> start tvh for the first time

As i told..... it was working for me. But i´m just on v4.0.1

Otherwise i´m out of ideas........ sorry .........

My synology NAS (DS213J) just carried out an update of tvheadend from the dierkse.nl repository to 4.1.1233-1 and everything is working, looks like the package has been fixed.

Appreciate your input in trying to resolve the issue. :)

What version are you currently running? 4.1.988-1 is available on syno.dierske.nl, to sort my problem I manually installed the armada 370 version of it then the synology advised me of the updated version.

evansport 4.1.988-1 is available here:

Hello

I just install this one for evansport (DS214Play): Version: 4.1.1233 (2015-12-17T14:53:26+0100)
and all is working except web access when connecting, I put a admin account and a password but system do not let me login

To fix that I stop package, ssh to my machine and add a -C option to the start line forcing to create a new configuration.

When starting package and gone to web page, systel ask me admin and guest acount to create,

I stop package and remove the -C option

All is working well now

Hi

I'm not at home but you may dive into /var/package/tvheadend ... etc and find a shell script called start-stop-status.

Then inside you have the line to run and you can add the -C option then restart all by package manager
