No one had any experience setting one of these up???

I set 1 up a few years ago but could not get anything other than the OSX elgato software to connect and play from it. Ended up returning it and going with dvbsky s952 and tvheadend in a linux server.

I've just bought one, impressed with speed and quality using the software it comes with. The unit seems rocksoild and for the price its most likely the way forward over DVB cards.
I've been keeping an eye on this, https://tvheadend.org/issues/3005#change-14552 as it didnt work before but issues appeared to be resolved.
At the moment i'm trying to work out on how to set it up. I'm going from a TBS DVBS2 card, to SAT>IP which i've never used before. The documention seems very limited around SAT>IP setups across the board, guess its early days or i'm rubish at searching :)
Just need to work it out.

Anyone had any luck with the Elgato Netstream 4Sat since the above issue was closed?
I've just tried again (I've been using DVBLogic TV Source with my Elgato as a short term fix, but would be happy to ditch Windows and run on a small ARM platform like an ODroid C1. Would have gone for a Pi but the IO bandwidth is a concern for multiple HD recordings to a USB hard drive)
I've just git cloned and compiled and am running 4.1-1065~gd2b08ca
What configs are people using if they have got them to work. I've just tried 28.2 with a network called Freesat HD and get lots of 2015-11-25 16:18:03.001 [ INFO] mpegts: 12560V in Freesat HD - scan no data, failed

I get some transponders scanned - but so far only a couple?
RE: Elgato Netstream - Added by Stephen Neal almost 9 years ago
Ignore me - a tweak and a reboot and it appears to be scanning OKish. 35 FAILs but 217 services found with 81 of 131 transponders left to scan on a network discovery.
RE: Elgato Netstream - Added by Yigi do almost 9 years ago
Same error here 'RTSP SETUP error -5 (Input/output error) [6-403]'.
How did you fixed this issue?
RE: Elgato Netstream - Added by M G almost 9 years ago
I've got mine up and running fine now, i worked out the settings after reading a lot forum posts about Hd home run.
I can't check the settings at the moment, I'll look later, but you need to be running a build later than my post above.
My tvheadend server is sitting within a docker container running within unraid.
I'm running a freesat channel bouquet fine.

Quick question how many cables\lnbs are connected to your netstream?
RE: Elgato Netstream - Added by Yigi do almost 9 years ago
Ok tonight i will test the last git version.
Now only one lnb is connected for testing.
RE: Elgato Netstream - Added by M G almost 9 years ago
Documention is very limited, but my setup works well enough, I'll keep this brief. :)
Anyone else reading this spots something wrong, please point it out.
Anyway, i'm running Build: 4.1-986~gfb9044c of TVheadend.
The cables also have to be plugged in order on the netstream, there is a primary lnb connector.
In TVheadend, under tabs configuration\General\SAT>IP Server once the netstream has been auto detected.
You need to set the RTSP Port as the netstream, mine is 554.
Under Exported tuners, by default there all 0. I'm only using two tuners on netstream (two cables from the LNB). So under DVB-S2 mine is set to 2.
Then under Configuration\DVB Inputs\Networks, then add a new network, "DVB-S network". not IPTV.
Set the normal, Name, Pre-defined muxes and Orbital Position etc.
Under Configuration\DVB Inputs\TV adapters, Enable the tuners in use only and set master tuner as required.
Under Position #1 (AA), I've only enabled this one, as i'm not sure what Position #1 #2 #3 #4 really does at the moment.
Set the Network you've created under Position.
The rest of the config is normal tvheadend stuff.
RE: Elgato Netstream - Added by Stephen Neal almost 9 years ago
I think the Position 2-4 (AB, BA, BB etc.) are for Diseqc switching. AIUI not all SAT>IP tuners support Diseqc, but the Elgato supports 4 way switching. This means you could feed the four LNB inputs on the Elgato via a Diseqc switch for a 4 position multisat system, which would be more versatile and flexible than a single LNB for each satellite.
