New OS X Client
Added by Yvan Janssens over 9 years ago
Hi,
I created a simple client for Mac OS X after I struggled with older Tvheadend versions that forced the web-based VLC plugin to be used.
I had some spare time lately and I used the opportunity to rewrite it from a quick'n dirty hack to a simple streaming client compatible with the 4.x branch.
The client can be found at http://www.friedkiwi.be/tvhplayer/ - is it possible to add it to the Clients page on the wiki?
Thanks,
Yvan

Looks great but not change Kodi and more if it will cost me 99 cents. Kodi is free for almost all devices.

I'm more or less required to charge for it, since Apple charges to put things in the App Store or distribute without asking users to turn off code signature validation. Doing that would degrade the UX a lot.
The problem I had with Kodi is that it's quite resource intensive, and it doesn't work that well when you want to put on e.g. MTV in the background.

This keeps asking me for password when I select a channel (using HTS Tvheadend 4.1-2140~gf34fac1~wily).
It is not possible to play any stream at all.
