Hello guys

I have a pci technisat skystar s2 board instaled on ubuntu 12.04 32 bits, instaled drivers with the explanation on the site tvlinux.org, and the tvheadend, vers. 3.4.27 detects the board. i put a muxe, the signal is up to 86%, detects the channels, and maped services to channels, but on kodi when i open a channel, does not show very well, on tvheadend status it shows may errors, but on mux the bandwith is high as well the signal strenght (up to 86%) the satelite is HISPASAT 30.0W, and is only view open channels.

I have a screenshosts of some configurarions and the errors

You're running quite an old version of Tvheadend, you may want to give 4.x a try. Errors on Tvheadend usually mean a bad signal or the machine is struggling to process the data & is dropping packets (highly unlikely and mainly affects USB devices not pci).

Have you tried another receiver using the same connection?

Most simple solution is with OpenElec ;)

ubuntu 15.04 x64 /someone say x32 is only for make-it-alone-at-home aka no deb for it/

my card is on Asus pundit
http://www.asus.com/Barebone_PCs/Pundit/specifications/
with
http://ark.intel.com/products/27129/Intel-Celeron-D-Processor-352-512K-Cache-3_20-GHz-533-MHz-FSB
only 32bit
ubuntu 15.04
if problems
https://bitbucket.org/CrazyCat/linux-tbs-drivers/
before compilation

sudo rm -rf /lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/drivers/media/*

Hello Saen Acro

I install Ubuntu 15.04 64bits, and now detects the Skystar S2
i have to download from linuxtv.org the drivers, compile them, put the firmware for the board on /lib/firmware, and my system now detects the board, but i have the same problem on the other machine, backend errors, the signal strenght is up tp 86% snr 15db, i dont now what to do.

Dont belive on this values
Find stb and see some real values
If you have amplifiier there also cant be problem

RE: Tecnisat Skystar S2 - backend player errors - Added by Marcio Lopes over 9 years ago

I have a stb installed on that, the values are the same and the stb works great, On you post you say

"In newer linux no need to compile module
it run without problem /have same card/

Just install FEMON to watch is there a BER errors"

I install ubuntu 15.04 64bits the system does not detects the card, i compile the drives that i downloaded from linuxtv.org, and now the system detects the card. On windows works like a charm. My card photo is in atachment.

I have another try with mythubuntu, to see is works.

Thanks for the help Saen Acro
