Wiki does not seem to be open to users?
Added by blue note over 9 years ago
Hi all
Maybe it's a bad idea but shouldn't there be some mechanism for users to help out with the wiki?
I was not able to find any info at all on the wiki pages about how to do so.

I could be wrong but I think it's to prevent spam, If I could give you access I would.
If you want to add anything to the wiki you're more than welcome to send a me a message (or email [email protected]).

Thanks for the response. I understand spam can be a problem. I was never suggesting it should be unauthenticated or wide open. There should be a mechanism for users to be able to gain access though - for several reasons.
a) not every contribution is a whole article
b) neither you nor I want to email every time a little edit needs to be made
c) not harnessing those little paragraph or even line edits is a net loss to everyone
d) someone like myself who might start with a correction or a paragraph here or there may end up writing up a page here or there when they are comfortable or gain the knowledge
I hope you'll mention this to whoever is in charge of granting access.
XBMC has a pretty permissive mechanism and it seems to work decently for them. Of course, for all I know they have someone policing spam on it 24/7, but I don't think so.

You could try e-mailing Adam Sutton [dev a t adamsutton.me.uk] or perexg and ask one of them to add you.
