TVHeadend on Moi Pro

Added by A S over 9 years ago

Hi, I have recently purchased a Moi Pro with TBS quad tuners, with TVHeadend preinstalled.

1) When I checked the version of TVH on the Moi, it shows Tvheadend 0.0.0~unknown? Is this an outdated version? What's the suggested version to use?

2) I'm currently streaming using the Moi in combination with TVHeadend. When I connect to a stream, using a client program like VLC, Under Tools-> Codec Information, I see a bunch of information from the transponder being streamed along with the channel that I'm tuned to. When I used the dreambox to stream the same channel, under Tools->Codec Information in VLC, it only showed Audio and Video stream. Is there an option in TV Headend to disable extra data from the whole transponder to be streamed every time a channel is accessed? It seems TVHeadend is streaming more than it should. The bandwidth is bigger than the streams coming from the dreambox.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What kind of operating system it is using?

Did you checked it on tbs forums?

I cant help you with the second part of questions.

Hi. Thanks for replying. The Moi Pro is linux based and is powered by Soc: Freescale MCIMX6Q5EYM10AC on a Quad ARM Cortex-A9 at 1.0GHz

I can't find any information in the TBS forum http://www.tbsdtv.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=165.
I don't know if there is a need for any special thing to the MOI, but if nothing special needed, you can use this page Building. I think, the MOI uses Debian based linux.
For me, the latest tvheadend version is stable enough.

If the version is 3.9+ it should have a filter tab to remove unwanted stuff.

For example the setting in this screenshot removes all audio except Audio that has the language Eng.

Hi Mark. Thanks for the information. I do have that setting on TV Headend for Audio Stream Filters. However, my concern is not the audio stream. VLC is only showing two audio codecs, so that's not an issue. My concern is that even though VLC plays a given stream, it is showing that the stream is including data from the whole transponder, which doesn't seem right. Please take a look at the 2 screenshots that I have included. You will see that epg and other sorts of data from all of the channels from the transponder, are also being streamed with a given channel. Is there a way to only enable audio and video codec from the channel that is being accessed Example: Stream 0 Video, Stream 1 Audio and nothing else.

Thanks.

Looks like you're using the pass option as the default streaming profile, which by default includes all information on the transponder.
You can tell tvheadend not to include other service info by checking the Rewrite options in the pass profile, like this..

Checking these options removes everything but audio, video & current programme info / whatever else you've chosen to remove via the filters.

Hi Mark. Yes indeed, I am using the pass option as my default streaming profile. Would you suggest I use either htsp or matroska instead of pass? Regarding the rewrite options, I only see Rewrite PMT and Rewrite PAT and that I have checked. I'm missing Rewrite SDT and Rewrite EIT. I've attached a screenshot so that you can see what I'm referring to. I'm thinking that I'm probably using an outdated version of TV Headend. What version of TV Headend are you using, Mark?
