Local User Access without Username/Password
Added by Adam W over 9 years ago
Hi everyone,
Currently running 3.9.2484~ga6ac407~trusty on Ubuntu 14.04.
My set-up is configured with one account with a password which is fine in general as I access TVHeadend through Kodi and the TVH Android Client app both on my home network and externally via port forwarding in my router.
I was just wondering if there's any way to set it up so that internal users (i.e. those on 192.168.1.*) don't have to log-in/authenticate to play streams? Specifically because I'm trying to see if I can get my network audio player to play radio streams from DVB-S/DVB-T via TVH, and that won't accept authenticated HTTP streams. I tried to create a new Access Entry but I haven't had any luck.

Does it not work if you use username '*', password '*', IP address 0.0.0.0/0 or 192.168.1.0/24? That should equate to 'no username, no password, any IP address in this range' (the 0.0.0.0/0 being 'all ranges', so be certain of your WAN security if that worries you).
