TVHeadEnd unstable 3.9 for Debian armhf doesn't work
Added by Jan S almost 10 years ago
Hello!
I installed TVHeadEnd 3.9 from unstable channel http://apt.tvheadend.org/unstable/pool/main/t/tvheadend/tvheadend_3.9.1879~g94ff39d~wheezy_armhf.deb for armhf and when I start it, everything looks like it works without problem. But not for real, because in syslog is message about extracting some backup.tar.bz2 and then there's nothing else. If I try to connect to ip_of_device:9981 there's nothing. I looked if anything is started on port 9981 with netstat and there's nothing.
I also tried TVHeadEnd 3.4 from stable channel and it worked without any problem. I would really need TVHeadEnd 3.9, because I already have config files for it and I wouldn't like to enter all channels into interface again. Is there any possiblity to get newer build of 3.9?
Thank you very much in advance!

Try asking on #hts, someone there will almost certainly have a more recent ARM build.
That said, it sounds like something's gone wrong with the automatic version backup feature - maybe because you're coming from 3.4, maybe because it was just taking a long time, maybe it didn't like the colour of your carpets. If you try to install again then perhaps you'd have better luck.
That said ^2, 3.9.1879 is getting pretty old in development terms, so a newer version would perhaps be a good idea anyway...
