Is Headend a viewer

Folks,

Before I start trawling through the various configuartion otions can someone point me in the right direction.

Is TV Headend a TV Viewer or does it merely stream and another program used for viewing the output?

It's not a viewer but it is possible to stream the video in the browser using a plugin such as VLC.
