DVR sometimes misses recordings
Added by Peter Hinch almost 10 years ago
After successfully recording a number of programmes yesterday, it missed two on BBC 4 last night. This happens frequently so I'd appreciate some help in understanding the log file. My TV adaptor is a Hauppauge WinTV Nova-TD which I've configured to appear as DiBcom 7000PC A and DiBcom 7000PC B. I don't know if it's significant that the second programme appeared to fail in a different way from the first: was it using adaptor B before the first failed recording had released it?
What is the meaning of "No input detected" and what can I do about it?

Do you guys experience occasional "time missed" events? I've spent a lot of time trying to track this down and I'd really like to know if tvheadend is usually reliable. Thanks for any pointers

Hi,
i have noticed, that tvh lists new "time Missed" recordings, when i restart tvheadend (tvheadend 3.9.2182). But the recordings are also listed in tab "finished recordings" and i can play them.
I didn't find out yet, in which cases that happens. I guess that this happens when 2 events recorded parallel. But i have 2 Sticks, so this is working. After a restart they will appear under failed recordings.
Greetings
Dennis

Thanks for that, Dennis. Unfortunately in my case when this happens the recording really is missing. It seems entirely random: at present it's losing about one recording in ten.
