TBS QBOX2 USB Dvb-S2 5928 stops working
Added by steve parry about 10 years ago
Hey all,
I had a old version of tvheadend installed on a 12.04 LTS ubuntu box. everything worked really well.
I then decided to update to the latest version of ubuntu 14.04 LTS inorder to support something else installed.
I built tvheadend from source and then installed the package. Everything looked fine. both my USB DVB-T2 PCTV 290e and TBS QBOX2 USB Dvb-S2 5928 were working. stations scanned and all was fine. until I noticed after a period of time (maybe 30mins?) the TBS device no longer works. If I restart tvheadend service it starts working again.
any ideas?
Got a bit more info from running in console mode.

well it seems if I use the git hashcode version a5bca8637cd68577d8668ca8ea972281b2e22e98 it all works again.
git checkout a5bca8637cd68577d8668ca8ea972281b2e22e98

Steve, thanks. Unfortunately I am not familiar with git and compiling, and just doing your checkout command gives me a fatal error:
$ git checkout a5bca8637cd68577d8668ca8ea972281b2e22e98 fatal: Not a git repository (or any parent up to mount parent ) Stopping at filesystem boundary (GIT_DISCOVERY_ACROSS_FILESYSTEM not set).
That is the end for me :-/
But this looks like a regression, so a bug report would be in order. (I am not sure that these forum posts are being taken seriously as bug reports?)

Its pretty simple to build
just follow the instructions and straight after the "git clone https://github.com/tvheadend/tvheadend.git" enter the tvheadend folder it created. The run the "git checkout a5bca8637cd68577d8668ca8ea972281b2e22e98" and follow rest of instructions as normal
https://tvheadend.org/projects/tvheadend/wiki/Building
Dont forget to create and install the package (bottom of instructions) after your tested all is working e.g. "sudo dpkg -i <packagename>"

This is coused by this bug: https://tvheadend.org/issues/2240
either use a older build or deactivate the mentioned muxes.
