IPTV in current unstable branch

Added by Josef Aschauer over 10 years ago

Hi,

can it be that IPTV (T-Entertain, Germany) is broken in the current unstable branch (ubuntu)? I get a scan result 'fail' on all of my channels.

I don't have this kind of problems with IPTV in France.

Latest unstable are very unstable, but that's working.

I stick to this version which is very stable in my iptv setup : HTS Tvheadend 3.9.788~g385c190~trusty

Thanks.
I found an older vm with HTS Tvheadend 3.9.769~g0ebca1b installed - where it seems to work (well...other things don't). Has maybe someone an idea on how to get a hand on 3.9.788?

Guess my problem has rather to do with the format I used to import the channellist. I use m3u2hts.py to import and convert a m3u list (with the --newformat switch)

Did something change here? format I use is: udp::10000 - which works perfectly in vlc. Is there something like an initial scan for iptv if your channel list is completely empty so that i no longer need to import it?

I'm using the same script as yours, which I first had to modify for my m3u, than required another tweak to mark muxes as not scanned.
But I have 500 channels, and at first TVH boot, they all try to scan, which my igmp proxy can't handle and only a few get scanned others have to be scanned manually :o (edit the service/mux, mark as unscanned, save, wait for scan, etc...)

What I would do is try to set up a few muxes/services without the playlist, just add it manually, and see what happens.

Here's a deb of the version i'm using : https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1266842/tvheadend_3.9.788%7Eg385c190%7Etrusty_amd64.deb

For all my urls I removed the @ and went for rtp rather than udp but both work.

Thanks for the deb...much appreciated! Will try it right now:)
I edited the script to get rid of the '@'...and now I wonder which additional tweaks you did?

Lucky you, I forked it : https://github.com/c0mm0n/m3u2hts/commit/3eeb9d0cfdcdad5b57b11f79e33dc671dd82b4fe

- Set interface right
- set to scan (even if it will fail for now for me)
- setup network according to my tvh conf

PS : basically I would make sure adding a mux manually works before loading dozens.
You can easily backup a current conf by copying the $HOME/hts folder to try on a fresh setup.

very cool. I use xbmc as my frontend. The last stable (3.4) works pretty good for IPTV - but as I also got a gss.box, I wanted to have a sat>ip all-in-one solution.
Lets see how this works after the initial scan...

Cool, using my deb ? that would confirm IPTV is broken in latest builds.

jep, using your build. The best for the last month I guess:)
I have double entries for my iptv services, but after disabling the ones with a service id of '1' xbmc got happy.
automatic mapping seems a bit broken, though
