Raspberry PI and TVHEADEND
Added by Hermann Mueller over 10 years ago
Hi there,
tvheadend 3.4 is running on my PI (B-Model).
Here some Configurations:
-USB Harddrive
-SD Card 32 GB
-USB DVB (Pinnacle 452..)
-Memory Split 32 GB
All works fine, but if i record a Program i cannot show at the same time another record. If i do that, then i have many errors in the Picture.
Is the PI to slow for this?
What is the recommend Setting for the PI (Memory Split) for tvheadend?
Can anybody help?
Regards
Hermann

Hello,
My experience with the Raspberry and TvHeadend is so so. It works but it uses 'way to much' cpu time (I think) for watching a decoded HD channel.
I do not watch it directly on the Raspberry but stream it to an PC with XBMC.
I like it to work better on the Raspberry because it is an nice solution.
I use:
- TvHeadend 3.9.????
- oscam
- Raspberry is over-clocked to 1100 MHz
- DVB-S(2) Anysee E30-S2

How did you get TvHeadend 3.9 installed on your Rpi? I used the "stable" version through apt-get install tvheadend and it is unable to get data for my services. I saw on another post that going back a version or 3 they were able to get services data, but I'd like the latest and greatest if possible. I'm new(ish) to Linux, Can I just clone the github repo and build it on the pi and have it work?
Thanks in advance,
Adam

Hello Adam,
Yes, that is how I did it.
