not realy.. you will probably need to build your own latest drivers from media build experimental. The default setting for the driver is, to handle each interface as own dvb.. (eg. /dev/dvb/adapter0/.., /dev/dvb/adapter1/.. ...so on up to your max configuration) you may use them also per tab (internal connection) so you would get all frontends for dvb-c and dvb-s in one adapter /dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0 and frontend1 and same for adapter1, but there is no reason to have tham this way besides you need to use an CI (but I woudn't buy it now, as it won't realy work - you may link one CI only to one frontend, and I don't know how this work with mixed environment..)

Actually I do have some troubles with my pure S2 configuration while epggrab is tuning to certain frequences but this can lie on my own infarstructure and configuration (using paravirtualized environment and not very good cabeling) as I never heard about this issues before)

sounds good, thanks for the help. I do however have one more concern, technically, could it handle the bandwith of 4 simultaneously hd records? one on each interface. Or is that too much?

Sure, you have to see it that way: approx SAT bandwidth for one tarnsponder (multiplex) is about 40 Mbps (5 MB/s) Sdtv uses approx. 2-3 Mbps (256-384 kB/s) and HDTV 6-8 Mbps (768-1024 kB/s) so in the theroyt, If you record all streams from 4 multiplexes (approx. 16 HDTV streams or up to 64 SDTV streams) will this cause a stream of 160 Mbps (20MB/s) so still not so big effort for your HDD or 1Gb network. In generally you will utilize much lover than that..

here some info (unfortunatelly only in german): http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transponder_(Satellit)

I've ordered an Digital Devices Cine CT V6, Dual DVB-C/DVB-T PCIe just yesterday. I've bought an TBS 6680 (dual DVB-C) a while ago, but never got it to run stable. And at the moment I'm quite done with the crappy TBS drivers and would like to give this device a go. The way you can combine the tuners seems like a really nice feature.

yeah but at a pretty hefty price :)

That's true. The TBS card was in the same price range, and therefore i still regret the choise of buying this. I hope my Digital Devices card will arrive soon. And more do I hope it will work flawless.
If I have received and installed the card, I will update this thread.

I've received the DVB-C card in the mean time, and have it running in my test system for a few days now. It runs way more stable compared to the TBS6680. I did not have a single issue this far.
I however needed the custom repo/patches as mentioned on: http://www.vdr-portal.de/board18-vdr-hardware/board102-dvb-karten/p1077194-aktuelle-treiber-f%C3%BCr-octopus-ddbridge-cines2-ngene-ddbridge-duoflex-s2-duoflex-ct-cinect-sowie-tt-s2-6400-teil-2/

As mentioned on the LinuxTV Wiki the current linuxtv repo in unusable for this card.

Hopefully in the future the drivers will be in the linuxtv repo to simplify installation.

So, I'm quite happy with this card.
