Problem to connect TVheadend WebGUi from the internet

Added by strammer max over 11 years ago

I have a problem with reaching TVHeadend WebGUi from the internet.
Via the local network everything work like a charm. But through the internet but I can not connect.
My router has installed OpenWRT and Tvheadend is installed on a bare linux ubuntu 13:04

This is my setup

--- Internet ----- <<< >>> 100MB line ---- [OpenWRT Router - DHCP] ---- Local Network --- TVHeadend

I have made a forward on my router to port 9981 & 9982 to my linux server

On Tvheadend I created two accounts

Via prefix I stated that there is no ip restrictions
I look through a port scanner port scanner or open but without result

I also read that default all ports are close to linux.
And you can set ports with iptables
I put the following ports open for external access.

What am I doing wrong?

If you are port forwarding using DHCP could possibly mess things up, unless you are sure the tvh box always has the address in the rules.

Before thinking about tvheadend issues I would stop it and run tcpdump on the on the box while running the port test to see if the incoming syn is making it through.

I would also test 9981 not 2.

Hi mate, if your dhcp range is 192.168.1.10 to 192.168.1.100

fix an IP outside your range on your linux ethernet adapter, something like:

IP 192.168.1.200
Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
Gateway 192.168.1.1
DNS 8.8.8.8
DNS 8.8.4.4

Now, make your port foward again to 192.168.1.200

And check if your iptables firewall are correctly!

But, i recommend you to disable completely your firewall on linux! because your are behind a router, and only foward the DVR ports to your server, so, you are safe!

Try this!

Big up
