Recommended DVB-S2 Tuner
Added by David Hewings over 11 years ago
Hi
I would like to know what DVB-S2 tuners people would recommend.
I have tried a Tbs6981, but only ever managed to get one of the tuners working at any one time, which is a pain when I want to be able to watch one while recording on the other (even with adam's driver walkthrough)
I have also bought a dvbsky s952, which will not run alongside the tbs6981, as when installed it simply wipes it out, no matter what order I put the one or other on.
I would really like to get this up and running properly with multiple tuners (pref pci-e, as I have 3 slots available)...would ultimately like to have at least 3 tuners, so that I can then increase frontends too.
Any help would me greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi!
I'm using the Technisat SkyStar USB HD [1]. This one works really great and out of the box. I'm using two of them in a dual tuner setup.
I don't see any disadvantages because of the USB interface.

Hello Michael Neurohr,
can you give me a small feedback about your experience, and also about your configuration.
Are you using whick OS?
In average, how long does it take to change channel?
You have HD channels?
Thanks in advance for your feedback.

I got one of these: http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Geniatech_HD_Star_DVB-S2_USB2.0
Its a single tuner but it is dead easy to setup - this is using ubuntu on a cubox(armf)
