Linux Noob - Basics: Help installing TVHE

Added by Travis Busen almost 12 years ago

I just got Crunchbang Linux installed. I'm following this tutorial:https://www.lonelycoder.com/redmine/projects/tvheadend/wiki/Download?version=2

I added deb http://www.lonelycoder.com/debian/ hts main to my sources

When I run sudo aptitude update I get the following error
"W: GPG error: http://packages.crunchbang.org squeeze-backports Release: The following signatures were invalid: KEYEXPIRED 1352888501"

I Googled this error and found something similar to it. It said to run apt-get -t squeeze-backports pkg-mozilla-archive-keyring

When I run that I get "E: Invalid operation pkg-mozilla-archive-keyring" so now I'm not so sure what to do. I've Googled on multiple pieces of these errors, but can't seem to find anything. This is the thread I was following on this error: http://crunchbang.org/forums/viewtopic.php?pid=276571

I also tried to run wget q -O http://www.lonelycoder.com/public.key | sudo apt-key add -, which returns an ok. Then when I run the update again it says the key is expired still.

Can someone help me with this? I'm a complete noob with Linux and I have no idea how to use the public key. I looked on the Ubuntu site at how to add repositories since Ubuntu is similar to Debian, but they don't tell you how to add keys.

Thanks

Hi Travis,

As far as i can tell there are only old version ( 2.x ) of tvheadend over there (follow the link you posted.), so adding that repository only gives you a very old version.

You can download tvheadend from this webpage at https://www.lonelycoder.com/redmine/projects/tvheadend/wiki/download.
I think there is a specific build-script for debian in the packaged tar.gz file ( but I am not sure).

Alex.
