Recording System Path - External (NAS) location
Added by R J almost 14 years ago
The default entry for the Recording System Path (Configuration > Digital Video Recorder) is /home/xbmc/Videos. Is it possible to reference an external NAS on the same internal home LAN for recroding live TV to? If so, what would the format be? I've tried http://ipaddress_of_NAS/video but didn't work. Any advice appreciated.

The path needs to be a path accessible from the filesystem on the machine where Tvheadend is running
Ie, you should be able to do "ls /the/full/path/name" in a shell prompt on the machine and see the contents

Just mount your nas on a /mnt/nas for example and put that path in tvheadend (that's what i do)...
In case your nas could not be mounted the recordings are on the tvheaden local disk and in case the nas gets mounted (which normally should be the case) the recordings appear on your nAS...
